More About Numerical Methods for Scientists and Engineers
you wanna use computers to read physical input and produce physical output? read this or you will look silly. "The purpose of computing is insight, not numbers" Excellent reference and well thought out. Impressive as a book by an equally impressive researcher. I also loved his talk "You and Your Research" (1988). Very influential researcher.
